Dr. Liu Yi, chairman of the board, was elected Chairman of the Board of the first Western Returned Scholars Association (Overseas-educated Scholars Association) in Chizhou City

    In order to build a platform for communication at home and abroad, give full play to the important role of the united front, and gather the wisdom and strength of the majority of overseas students, recently, the inaugural meeting and the first general meeting of the Western Returned Scholars Association (Chizhou Overseas Students Association) were held smoothly in Chizhou. Zhang Yong, deputy director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Provincial Committee, Xu Songting, Secretary general of the Western Returned Scholars Association of the Province, attended the meeting. Shi Runniu, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Municipal Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Municipal Committee, attended the meeting.

    The meeting deliberated and approved the "Methods for the Election of the First Meeting of the First Council of Western Returned Scholars Association (Overeducated Scholars Association of Chizhou)", elected the president, executive vice president and vice president of the first council, and nominated the secretary general and deputy secretary general of the council. Subsequently, Dr. Liu Yi, president of the first Council, made a statement on behalf of the council.

    Dr. Liu Yi said in his speech that the Western Returned Scholars Association (Overseas-educated Scholars Association) is the bridge and link between the Party and the majority of overseas students, is the party and the government to do a good job in the work of overseas students, but also the majority of overseas students unity, struggle, warm home. The establishment of the Alumni Association will contribute wisdom to the construction of "three excellent" Chizhou in the new stage of modernization, and further unite and lead the majority of overseas students to devote themselves to the new journey of comprehensively building a modern socialist country, and gather the majestic strength of patriotic struggle.

    Liu Yi proposed that the work of the council should be carried out from three aspects: first, adhere to political construction, uphold the fine tradition, carry forward the spirit of patriotism and serving the country. We should carry forward the spirit of serving the country by studying abroad in the new era, take national prosperity, national rejuvenation and people's happiness as our ambition, and actively participate in the new journey of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way. Second, we should adhere to the strong service, give play to the talent advantage, and serve the high quality development of Chizhou. We will identify, train and recommend talents in practice, facilitate the policy of "double recruitment and double recruitment", and support and encourage more overseas students to return to China for innovation and entrepreneurship. And actively strengthen foreign exchanges and cooperation, attract experts and scholars at home and abroad and high-tech teams to invest and start businesses in our city, to contribute to the city's export-oriented economic development. Third, we need to work together to promote cooperation, strengthen self-improvement and strengthen cohesion. We will give full play to the "three positions" of a talent pool for overseas students, a think tank for advice and suggestions, and a new force for non-governmental diplomacy. We will actively build a think tank platform for overseas students, constantly expand the team, expand the influence, and effectively bring into play the positive role of overseas students.

    Over the past hundred years, generation after generation of overseas students have given up high salaries and returned to China to devote themselves to the construction of the motherland, combining the realization of personal value with dedication to the country and the people, and contributing their wisdom and strength to national liberation and national prosperity.
