At the meeting, Secretary General Xing gave a detailed introduction to the preparation background of the Medium and Long Term Development Plan (2018-2035) of Internal Combustion Engine Industry (hereinafter referred to as the Plan), and interpreted the plan from five aspects, including preparation requirements, preparation principles, guidelines, key contents and safeguard measures. He pointed out that "planning" in the process of compiling work, need transformation on the depth of the current internal combustion engine industry development in our country and the global science and technology have merged to form a detailed analysis of internal combustion engine industry development trend of integration of internal combustion engine to a large extent the domain experts with relevant departments and provinces and cities, a think-tank, resources and the consensus for subsequent field related special planning and implementation plan establishment foundation, to the field of internal combustion engine each field to form a complete, on the basis of full field of science and technology innovation roadmap, become our country to speed up the construction of the internal combustion engine technology world powers, through the field of internal combustion engine science and technology innovation support the guide of accelerating into an innovative country.

The meeting proposed the establishment of a leading group for general planning and several sub-planning writing groups, and initially released the roadmap for the medium and long term development plan (2018-2035) of China's internal combustion engine industry.
